Entertainment Law and Creative Contract Development

Mr. Marovich's intellectual property and contracting experience, two areas of primary concern for entertainment professionals, provides a benefit for his clients.

Mr. Marovich works with entertainment professionals such as:

• Actors

• Agencies
• Artists
• Authors
• Independent film production companies
• Musicians
• Publicists
• Record industry professionals
• Record producers
• Singers
• Songwriters
• Talent management
• Theatre companies

Coming from a family of entertainers (he too has acted on stage and camera), it's not a stretch to say that the entertainment business is "in his blood," which gives him familiarity with the unique needs and desires of people involved in the entertainment business.

In addition to biological connections, Mr. Marovich interacts on a routine basis with several professional organizations, including the Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Record Industry Professionals, Arizona Songwriters Association, the Phoenix Chapter of the Independent Feature Project, and the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame, Inc., where he serves as legal counsel. In addition, he is a former executive staff member of the Phoenix Film Festival.

Among his clients are the actor whose short film was selected by the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, the photographer whose work was featured at the Phoenix Herberger Theatre, the producer whose film has been featured on Starz, the band who sold music to MTV's programming division, the songwriter whose songs were used in several feature films, and the wordsmith whose feature article graces the cover of the 2007 collector's issue of Desert Living Magazine.

Creative Contract Development (for Creative Professionals)

The fundamentals are the same for organization of business entities, but entertainment industry companies and contracts are more concerned with issues like intellectual property rights, royalty payments, sharing profits, credits, rights of privacy, licensing, inventory, author's publishing agreements, and unique situations related to non-traditional business arrangements.

• Avoiding disputes

• Formation of companies and corporations
• Contract analysis and negotiation
• Film production legal
• Speaking engagements
• Copyright and licensing
• Trademarks and trade names
• Media and entertainment
• Settling disputes and litigation
• Company/Partnership matters
